Donald Trump on Twitter - Is It Really Him

We all know how much Donald Trump loves Twitter. The 2016 president-elect  uses Twitter to thank his supporters, trash his enemies and even flame some of his critics. You do not want to be on the losing end of a Twitter war with The Donald. I like it because I can get also my point of view out there, and my point of view is very important to a lot of people that are looking at me,  Trump has said of the microblogging platform. â€Å"Somebody said I’m the Ernest Hemingway of 140 characters,† Trump has claimed. But does Trump really tweet himself? Or does a member of his staff handle Twitter for him, much the way other politicians and celebrities hire paid media experts and public-relations pros to handle their social media presence and carefully craft the messaging?   As with many things about Trump, theres no clear answer. Is That Really Trump On Twitter? At first blush, you think: Of course thats him. Look at the stream of tweets. Its got Trumps fingertips all over it, the bravado, the insults, the self-congratulation. Journalists profiling Trump have also made note of his addiction to picking fights on Twitter. Wrote The Wall Street Journal: Mr. Trump doesn’t use a computer. He relies on his smartphone to tweet jabs and self-promotion, often late into the night, from a chaise longue in his bedroom suite in front of a flat-screen TV. So, yes, he tweets. Himself. At least sometimes. Read on. Or Was It Just A Handler Or Intern? There is evidence, too, that Trump has used someone else to manage his Twitter account. For example, there are tweets in the third-person. For example, a 2012 tweet from Trumps account reads: The Apprentice was the #1 show on television last season on Sunday from 10 to 11 --- congratulations Donald! Would Trump really refer to himself in the third-person? Probably not. But who knows? And theres a profile of Trumps media handler, Hope Hicks, from The Washington Post that suggests the candidate sometimes dictates his tweets to staffers who then post them. Reports The Post: On his plane, Trump flips through cable channels, reads news articles in hard copy, and makes offhanded comments. Hes throwing out his signature bombastic, sometimes offensive tweets. Hicks takes dictation and sends the words to aides somewhere in the Trump empire, who send them out to the world. So Trump doesnt always tweet himself. Trump himself claims his interns have access to the realDonaldTrump account. And the interns have occasionally gotten Trump into trouble, according to the candidate. Such was the case when a tweet from Trumps account criticized voters of Iowa who supported Republican rival Ben Carson. Too much Monsanto in the corn creates issues in the brain? the tweet read. Trump later apologized. Actually, Trump said his intern apologized. The young intern who accidentally did a Retweet apologizes, Trump wrote (we think). Does It Matter? An analysis of Trumps tweets and the devices used to send them by Mother Jones concluded that very few - the magazine claimed only 3 percent - came from the candidate himself. The rest were dictated or sent by an intern, it reported. But who cares? The words belong to Trump whether he tapped the letters out on his phone or not. He thought them, or at the very least dictated them to an intern or staffer. Its clear from his willingness to engage in Twitter wars and spew insults and occasionally offensive comments that Trump isnt beholden to a media handler. Trumps Twitter is vintage Trump, for better or for worse.

The Black Death Of The Bubonic Plague - 1659 Words

The research topic I have chosen to do my paper on is the â€Å"Black Death† which is also referred to as â€Å"the bubonic plague†. Medieval people also referred to it as â€Å"the blue sickness†, â€Å"pestilence† and â€Å"the Great Mortality†. The Black Death was an epidemic from 1343 – 1353, it came to Europe via trading ships after a long journey through the Black Sea. The plague originated in Eastern Asia and worked its way via the trade ships into Western, Europe. The vessels were crammed full of rats and fleas that they believe were carrying this disease. When the people came to the docks to see the ships much to their surprise and shock most of the sailors aboard the ships were dead or critically ill. The few sailors that were still alive were terrified and in horrific pain. They had strange black boils that oozed blood and pus all over their bodies, thus how the disease got its name â€Å"Black Death†. The ships were ordered to leave the harbor immediately but it was too late, the plague had already spread. Over a five year span the plague killed more than 20 million people in Europe and close to one-third of Europe’s population. The symptoms began with the black boils and then other symptoms followed such as fever, chills, vomiting, diarrhea, terrible aches and pains and ultimately death. Analysis of Friar Lawrence and the Nurse - 1075 Words

Analyze the characters of the Nurse and Friar Laurence as mentors to the young people in the play. Do these two people do the â€Å"right thing† by Romeo and Juliet? The nurse and Friar are sophisticated characters that act as parental figures within the prolix and truculent play. The timeless classic Romeo and Juliet (RJ) by William Shakespeare revolves around the notion of determinism, death, love and deception. Despite Romeo and Juliet having warring parents who pay little regard to them, the Nurse and Friar act as parental figures towards them who guide through vexed situations in their best interest, however, this only prolongs their declivity, with the Friar acting as a motif of death and the Nurse acting as a beacon of hope. By†¦show more content†¦The Nurse concedes this proposal because of her motherly affection towards Juliet, as it is in her best interest and desires to witness Juliet wed with a genuine love rather than an arranged agreement. Although this can be seen as an congenial gesture, it completely rescinds the social discourses of the time, consequently justifying that the Nurse is not a great advisor unlike the Friar . The first exposure to the Friar shows his careful, wise manner and his obvious care for Romeo’s best interests rather than his own satisfactions. This characterization of Friar Laurence is greatly flawed due to his impetuous thinking when put under the pressure of having two teens approach him with the intention of killing themselves, as he attempts to guide Romeo and Juliet during their struggles. Shakespeare laminates the Friar with fault as he is arguably the incentive, along with the nurse for Romeo and Juliets cessation, hence becoming the rationale of their declivity. Shakespeare adopts symbolism upon the Friar and the Nurse. The contrasting of darkness and light is seen all throughout the play, usually in reference to Juliet as light, although regarding the thesis, the Nurse and Friar are metaphorical concepts of fate and theShow MoreRelated1. From Internship to Career free essay sample

I have wanted to study broadcast news for as long as I can remember. While Id planned my future for years, I took a tangible step toward this goal last year with an internship at KACT TV, Channel 8 in Aurora. With an average of 4,000 viewers, this was no major outlet, but Channel 8 taught me skills and allowed me to grow in a way I am certain no class ever would. More important, it validated what I have always believed: I want to work in broadcast news. Initially, my tasks were far from glamorous. I logged tapes, a tedious process in which I learned that 20 minutes of footage makes only two minutes of actual news. This seemingly boring procedure really was valuable since it trained me to look for different shots and listen for sound bites. Next I began shadowing a reporter on assignment. By watching a reporter in action, I began to see what constitutes a successful interview. We will write a custom essay sample on From Internship to Career or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page More important, I saw how a story can change in an instant, as well as the importance of having a strong story angle. After shadowing, I embarked on shoots alone, armed with lessons Id learned from vigilantly watching the professionals. While I enjoyed going on shoots, it was getting back to the station with the tape that truly excited me. I had all the resources necessary to share a story with the world. I loved poring over the images, selecting the most powerful sound bite and critiquing take after take of a stand up. Writing and editing something I had created felt empowering. The process of gaining information, finding the story and creating a package was inspiring. It was mine. I could sit at an editing bay for an inordinate amount of time, totally succumbing to the possibilities of a minute-long news package. During the actual broadcast, I ran the teleprompter, graphics and camera. I also acted as floor director, which quickly became my favorite position. I then took all these new skills and ran the production of a two-minute Channel 8 Update completely on my own. I started the tape, faded to the camera, brought up the microphone, inserted graphics and ran the audio. As I moved around the control room frantically looking for the next button, I realized I was having the time of my life. The stress, the pressure, the fast pace and the quest for perfection all fit my personality. This was an environment where I could thrive. I value my experiences at Channel 8 because I worked on news in a very real environment. I saw firsthand the harsh realities of an appearance-based profession. It became frightfully apparent that television is about looks and is often fiercely competitive. Also, I would never have comprehended that who you know is more important than what you know had I not witnessed this troubling fact on a daily basis. Such realities are difficult to convey in a journalism book or classroom and I feel privileged to have seen the negative aspects of broadcast news at such a young age. In high school I worked hard to learn about journalism, for I had long ago selected this field before realizing what it entails. Now that I do know, I am only more certain that broadcast news is the career for me.

Right Performance Management System-Free-Samples for Students

Questions: 1.With regard to your answer to (d) above, how does the organisation measure the performance of this group of key talent?2.How does it ensure that a right performance management system is in place to maximize their performance? Answers: 1.The organisation measure the performance of the group of key talent in different ways. First, the performance measures focuses on stability of the accrued profit, cash flow earnings, and returns in invested capital among others. Cost benefit is highly considered, as well as performance dimensions which should be measurable to avoid biasness in the assessment. Secondly an alternative can be used to ensure the correctness of the assessment. The performance matrix is used (Holmberg, 2000). It provides evidence of financial and non-financial goal achievement. It has to configure organizational strategic goals whereby employer and employees agreement should be realistic and achievable. This assessment involves organizing systematic feedback sessions and reviewing of performance whereby high and average performers are observed. Weighting to each matrix is assigned depending on the level of importance thus higher performance issued to individuals and lower performance to team evaluation. The employees performance highly affects the matrix. 2.To ensure that right performance management system is in place in order to maximize the organisations performance, the following has to be adhered to; to begin with, the business should ensure that it has a well-designed performance planning process which entails the expectations of the employee goals and objectives that they should work on. The expected performance of the business should move hand in hand with the processes carried out there. The goals of the employees should not differ from those of the organisation which are result oriented rather than process oriented. Training gives the workers consciousness which is required in an organization by the workforce. For example, they become time conscious, and gain some leadership qualities. To enhance good performance in the organisation the employer should promote good communication, preferably dialogue with the employees (Holmberg, 2000). Good communication all through the business arena enables smooth flow of activities, thus increasing the yield in the business .This allows them to out speak the challenges they come across and what to do to improve performance. Employer should also supervise to ensure that necessary data is collected, observation and documentation done in the required manner at the right time. Lastly performance appraisal meetings should be held to evaluate their set goals, whether achieved or not, review to assess their progress at the mid of the year and take a performance assessment at the end of the year.
